Answers to common questions about Nuvi.
Can't find your answer? Write to support@ege.md.
How do I record?
On the home screen tap Record, then tap the record button. Allow the microphone when asked. Tap End when you are done. Recording continues with the screen locked. The note shows "Transcribing…" and then opens with the transcript, the summary, the decisions and the action items. Transcription needs an internet connection.
A recording can be up to one hour long; it stops automatically at the one-hour mark. Let people know before you record them. Recording others may require their consent where you live.
Can I record without an internet connection?
Yes. The recording is saved on your device first. If you are offline it shows "Waiting for connection" and is sent for transcription as soon as you are back online. Transcription, summaries and Ask need a connection.
How does recording on Apple Watch work?
Open Nuvi on the watch and tap the record button. When you stop, the recording is sent to your iPhone, which gets it transcribed. A recording leaves the watch once your iPhone has it; until then it shows as waiting for iPhone. Your notes, summaries and to-dos can be read on the watch.
Can I start a recording from the Action button, Siri or Control Center?
Yes. Nuvi provides a "Start or Stop Recording" shortcut. Assign it to the Action button in iOS Settings, ask Siri for it, add it to a shortcut of your own, or add the Nuvi control to Control Center. There is also a Record widget for the Home Screen and the Lock Screen.
What are the Room and Just me microphone modes?
Room hears every voice around the device and is best for meetings. Just me reduces background noise and cleans up the voice closest to the device; people across the room may come out faint. During a Just me recording you can also tap the microphone chip to open the system Mic Mode and choose Voice Isolation.
Can I import audio I already have?
Yes. On the home screen tap Import a recording and pick a file from Files. An audio file, or a video with sound, works. Imported recordings can be up to 60 minutes long.
How do I name the speakers?
In the transcript, tap a speaker's name and type the right one. Choose Save and remember voice if you want Nuvi to recognise that person in later recordings. Nuvi may also ask "Which one is you?" or "Do you know these voices?" after a meeting.
Remembered voices are kept only on your device. You can see and remove them in Settings > Voices.
A word or name is spelled wrong. How do I fix it?
Open the transcript, tap the menu at the top, and choose Fix a word…. Enter how it was written and how it should be written. Every place it appears in that note is fixed, and later recordings are fixed automatically.
This is the best fix for brand names that are pronounced differently in your language.
What is custom vocabulary?
In Settings > Custom vocabulary you can add names, products and jargon that come up in your recordings, spelled the way you spell them. The free plan keeps 10 words; Pro keeps up to 100. If you fill in your role or company in your profile, Nuvi also suggests words for you. Suggested words do not count toward your limit.
What are the limits on Free and Pro?
Free: the first 10 minutes of each recording are transcribed, up to 30 minutes a month. The summary, decisions and action items are included.
Nuvi Pro: up to 60 minutes transcribed per recording with no monthly limit (fair use applies), PDF export, calendar capture and reminders, and search and questions across all your notes.
If you run out of free minutes, the recording is still saved on your device. These limits may change; the app always shows the current ones.
How do I restore my purchase?
Go to Settings > Account > Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought with. Pro is active on the device where you last bought or restored it, so if you move to another device, restore there.
To change or cancel a subscription, open your App Store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple.
How does iCloud sync work?
If you are signed in to iCloud, your notes are kept in your own private iCloud and sync between your devices. We cannot see them. You can check the status under Settings > iCloud sync. Remembered voices do not sync; they stay on each device.
What does "Restoring…" mean?
After you reinstall the app or set up a new device, Nuvi brings your notes back from your iCloud. While it does, you see "Restoring…". It needs an internet connection and can take a little while. If a note's audio is not there yet, it is still on its way from iCloud; try again a bit later.
Which widgets are there?
Record, Recent notes, Latest summary, To-dos and Coming up for the Home Screen, plus Lock Screen widgets and a Control Center control. Widgets show note titles and to-dos on your screen, so choose them with that in mind.
How do I delete my data?
To delete one note or meeting, open it and choose Delete. It is removed from your device and from iCloud.
To delete everything, go to Settings > Delete all data. This removes every recording, transcript and note on your device and in your iCloud, your profile, and everything our servers hold for you. It cannot be undone.
Deleting data does not cancel a subscription. If you subscribe, tap Restore purchases afterwards.
Which languages are supported?
Recordings can be transcribed and summarised in many languages. Nuvi detects the language by itself, and the summary is written in the language that was spoken. If all your recordings are in one language, you can pick it under Settings > Spoken language. The app's own interface is in English.
Does Nuvi record phone calls or online meetings?
No. Nuvi records through the microphone of your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch. It does not record phone calls and does not join Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams.
Is my audio private?
Audio is uploaded only to be transcribed, on AI servers we operate ourselves, and is deleted from the server as soon as the transcript is returned. See the Privacy Policy for the details.
